Privacy Policy
Effective date: 22/October/2026
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how Gastronomica General Trading Co., Commercial Registration No. 110371 (the “Company”, “we”, “us” or “our”), handles personal data in connection with the JŌN website, reservations, enquiries, and visits to MINOS, République, and Cocoa Room at JŌN, Al-Seef, Kuwait. It should be read alongside our Terms and Conditions.
2. Information we collect
We collect information you provide when making a reservation, contacting us, or requesting a service. This may include your name, telephone number, email address, reservation date and time, selected outlet, party size, special requests, and correspondence. We also keep relevant booking, attendance, cancellation, payment, and refund records, together with records of acceptance of our terms and your marketing preferences.
Allergy, intolerance, and dietary information may be collected to help us prepare for your visit. Please provide only information relevant to your dining requirements and avoid including unrelated medical details. When you provide information about other guests, ensure that you are authorized to do so and make this policy available to them.
When you use our website, technical information may be collected, such as your IP address, browser and device information, pages viewed, and access times. The information collected through optional cookies or similar technologies depends on the tools enabled and your choices.
3. How we use your information
We use personal data to process and manage reservations; arrange prepayments and refunds; send confirmations, reminders, and booking updates; respond to enquiries and complaints; accommodate disclosed dietary requirements; and provide our services. Relevant booking history may also be used to manage repeated no-shows or late cancellations in accordance with our Booking Terms and Conditions.
We may use necessary technical and transaction information to operate and secure our website, investigate misuse, maintain records, resolve disputes, and meet applicable legal obligations. Optional analytics or advertising activities, where used, are subject to the choices described below. We obtain consent where required by applicable law.
4. Booking communications and marketing
We may contact you about your reservation by SMS, email, WhatsApp, or through the booking platform, using the details you provide. These operational messages are separate from marketing.
We use your personal data for marketing only if you have opted in. You may withdraw your marketing consent at any time by using the unsubscribe option provided or contacting us. Withdrawing marketing consent does not cancel your reservation or stop necessary service communications. Accepting the Booking Terms and Conditions does not, by itself, constitute marketing consent.
5. Payments and service providers
We may share personal data with booking platforms and payment service providers solely to the extent necessary to process your reservation and any prepayment, including related payment administration and refunds. Payment details entered into a provider’s payment interface are handled under that provider’s applicable privacy notice. Please do not send full card details or card security codes by email, WhatsApp, or enquiry forms.
Where technical providers support the website or communications, any access to personal data should be limited to what is necessary to deliver that support on our behalf and subject to appropriate confidentiality and security arrangements. We may also disclose information where required by law or the competent authorities. CCTV disclosures are subject to the specific limits below.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
The website may use cookies or similar technologies to support essential functions, remember preferences, and, where enabled, measure website use or advertising performance. Essential technologies support functions such as security and the reservation journey. Optional analytics and advertising technologies should operate only in accordance with the choices presented to you and applicable consent requirements.
Where a cookie preference tool is provided, you can use it to review or change your choices. You can also control cookies through your browser settings, although blocking essential cookies may affect website or booking functionality. Third-party booking and payment pages may provide their own cookie notices and controls.
7. CCTV and proof of age
Our outlets are monitored by CCTV for safety and security. Recordings are retained for a limited period and disclosed only where required by law or by the competent authorities, as stated in our Booking Terms and Conditions.
Management may request proof of age to apply the outlet’s age policy. This does not, by itself, mean that an identity document will be copied or retained. Any additional collection should be explained at the time and limited to what is necessary.
8. Retention and security
Personal data is retained only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, taking account of applicable recordkeeping obligations, refunds, complaints, and disputes. Retention periods depend on the type of record and the reason it is held. Data that is no longer needed should be securely deleted or anonymized.
We use appropriate organizational and technical measures to protect personal data and restrict access to authorized persons who need it for their duties. No electronic transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
9. Processing outside Kuwait
Depending on the service providers used, personal data may be processed or stored outside Kuwait. Any such arrangements must comply with applicable requirements and include appropriate safeguards. You may contact us for information about the arrangements relevant to your data.
10. Your choices and requests
You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, or to raise concerns about its use. Requests will be assessed in accordance with applicable law; some records may need to be retained to meet legal obligations or resolve disputes. We may request proportionate information to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out lawfully. If information necessary to fulfil a reservation or dietary request is not provided, or its use is restricted, we will explain any resulting service limitations. You may also raise a complaint with the competent authority.
11. Children and third party services
Reservations must be made by a person with full legal capacity under Kuwaiti law. The outlets’ minimum admission age is 12, as set out in the Booking Terms and Conditions; this is not a statement that a 12-year-old may independently consent to data processing or make a binding reservation. Information about younger guests should be supplied by an authorized adult where needed.
External websites, social media services, booking platforms, and payment services may process information under their own privacy notices. Review those notices when using their services.
12. Changes and contact details
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our services, practices, or applicable requirements. The latest version will be published on our website with its effective date. Where a change requires fresh consent, we will request it.
For privacy enquiries, requests, or complaints, contact Gastronomica General Trading Co. at info@jonkuwait.com or +965 1858000. Please identify your request as a privacy matter.
This policy is issued in English and Arabic. In the event of an inconsistency, the Arabic version prevails, consistently with the Terms and Conditions.
